How do I run a Tracert command ?
How do I run a Tracert command ?
Solution
Sometimes we may ask you to run a Tracert command on your PC if you are having difficulty accessing our services. A tracert is a
computer network tool used to determine the route taken by packets of data between two machines connected to the internet. So basically you are running the command to check the route between your PC and our network . To do this please run the following;
Windows XP
Click on Start > RUN and type in the letters CMD . This brings up a DOS or Command Line window. Within that window, type in the word tracert followed by the domain your testing i.e
www.myhost.ie
. Then hit Enter and the tracert should run giving you an output which can be cut and paste into an email.
